FUNCTION

DESCRIPTION:

The Real Estate Closing Specialist will be responsible for reviewing loan files to prepare settlement documents, book loans to the credit union core system and to verify all pertinent information has been successfully transferred over. Provide excellent service to the members ensuring they understand what to expect prefunding and post funding. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to adjust to changing business needs.

This role plays an important part in providing best in class service to our members. This position will work in collaboration with other departments and partners.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in real estate closing preferably in residential real estate.
  • K nowledge of real estate lending and closing with an understanding of document preparation.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred

Skills:

  • Must possess strong communication, organizational, presentation, member service and interpersonal skills.
  • Make sound decisions based upon department procedures, company guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while still being detailed and results oriented.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical/problem solving and time-management skills
  • Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Real estate origination systems

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates Bellco’s Act Nice Behaviors and Core Values in all interactions with members, prospective members, and personnel in other Bellco departments.
  • Completes activities and SLA goals associated with Home Equity Real Estate – Processing/Closing. Responsible for the thorough review of loan file received from processor, prepares closing documents and responsible for disbursing loan proceeds on funding date.
  • Disburse loan proceeds via check issuance, wires, etc.
  • Book/Upload loans in Bellco’s core system accurately; to include knowledge of HMDA data.
  • Communicates with members regarding funding details prior to closing.
  • Coordinate with 3rd parties to facilitate any simultaneous settlements.
  • Utilize internal reports and dashboards to maintain required service levels and ensure all daily tasks are completed.
  • Work in collaboration with other team members in Home Equity and other business areas.
  • Prepare and participate in regular pipeline reviews with management to ensure daily tasks are met.
  • Assist with coverage for co-workers to maintain member communication and processes to meet service goals.
  • Contact vendors as needed to clarify data and reports received to thoroughly process loan closing/booking.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and Agency requirements including but not limited to RESPA, Homeowner’s Protections Act of 1998, SCRA, Fair Credit Legislation, HMDA, and CFPB.
  • Deliver best in class member experience within all loan channels and points of contact.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
