The SBA Senior Credit Approval Officer supports SBA Business Development Officers and Bankers in structuring and analyzing SBA transactions for existing and prospective clients. The role oversees the overall credit quality of the SBA portfolio across SBA Express, 7a Small Loans, 7a Standard Loans, 504 transactions, CAPLine and other SBA products.

• Structure and analyze SBA transactions for business acquisition, working capital, real‑estate acquisition, construction, debt refinance, and asset acquisition.
• Ensure the overall credit quality of the SBA portfolio across the NBH footprint through sound underwriting.
• Underwrite new SBA credit requests in compliance with NBH Credit Policy, SBA SOP, BSA, OFAC, and all applicable Federal and State laws.
• Review application documents, financial spreads, performance metrics, third‑party reports, and assist in loan closing and satisfaction of closing conditions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field (or equivalent education and experience).
• 7+ years of relevant experience in business/commercial banking, preferably with SBA products.
• Proficiency with multiple computer systems, including Microsoft Office and web‑based applications.
• Strong credit analysis, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance skills.

• In‑depth SBA Lending knowledge, including eligibility requirements, underwriting rules and guidelines.
• Completed formal credit training program or equivalent.
• Proficiency with bank credit systems such as FIS, Moody’s Credit Lens, and Capital Stream.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

• Must work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typical 8‑hour shift).
• Must be able to lift, pull, push, bend to knees and waist, twist at waist, raise arms overhead, turn head‑neck‑shoulders as needed.
• Must work overtime to the extent necessary.
