Observability Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking an Observability Engineer with hands‑on experience building dashboards, alerts, and automated monitoring for cloud‑based infrastructure. This role focuses on expanding observability for large‑scale WiFi network systems running on AWS. The Observability Engineer will work across tools like Splunk Enterprise, Datadog, and Grafana to improve visibility, performance, and reliability for a platform serving millions of users.

• Design and implement dashboards, alerts, and visualizations across AWS cloud services
• Build monitoring solutions for enterprise WiFi network infrastructure at scale
• Develop APM, NPM, and SNMP-based monitoring to improve service insight and incident response
• Automate log aggregation, JVM performance tracking, and telemetry pipelines
• Partner with development and platform teams to embed observability into new and existing services
• Write Python and Bash scripts to automate monitoring workflows and repeatable tasks
• Manage monitoring configurations, code, and infrastructure using Git version control

• 3-5 years of experience in observability, site reliability engineering, or infrastructure monitoring
• Strong hands‑on experience with Splunk Enterprise, Datadog, and Grafana
• Solid understanding of AWS services, metrics, logging, and cloud‑native monitoring patterns
• Familiarity with WiFi network concepts, telemetry, or large‑scale distributed systems
• Experience working with APM, NPM, and SNMP monitoring approaches
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation and tooling
• Experience with Git for version control and collaborative development
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineers and support teams to refine monitoring requirements

• Knowledge of JVM‑based systems and application performance tuning
• Understanding of event‑driven architectures or log‑pipeline design
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code or automated deployment pipelines

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
