Job Title: Mechanical Project Sales Representative
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $90,000

  • Car Allowance: $700/month

  • Uncapped Commission

  • First-Year On-Target Earnings (OTE): $175,000+

  • Tenured Rep OTE: $225,000+

Overview:
The Agency Recruiting is proud to be partnered with a leading HVAC mechanical company in the Phoenix area that is actively seeking a Mechanical Project Sales Representative to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity for a results-driven HVAC professional with strong B2B sales experience to step into a high-impact, relationship-focused role.

Position Summary:
In this role, you will manage and grow a portfolio of commercial building accounts, acting as both a technical advisor and sales consultant. You will identify and pursue HVAC system replacement, redesign, and retrofit opportunities, partnering with facility decision-makers and internal engineering teams to deliver high-value mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an account manager for a book of commercial clients, building strong relationships with business owners, building owners, and facility managers.

  • Identify HVAC project opportunities, including system replacements, energy retrofits, and mechanical redesigns.

  • Perform site visits and mechanical room assessments to understand equipment performance and system needs.

  • Discuss technical aspects such as equipment age, expected lifespan, and cost-benefit analysis of repair vs. replacement.

  • Collaborate with internal engineers to develop project proposals and solutions.

  • Guide customers through technical decision-making processes and educate them on ROI and system impact.

  • Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract close, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7+ years of experience in the HVAC industry, or a combined 5–7+ years of HVAC and B2B sales experience.

  • Proven success in B2B sales, ideally selling directly to end users (not distributors, reps, or contractors).

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment; able to walk into a mechanical room and understand its components and operation.

  • Experience with consultative, solutions-based selling in the commercial HVAC space.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships.

  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a sales territory independently.

  • Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
