SUMMARY

The QA Engineer is responsible for designing & implementing scalable test automation frameworks, tools, & quality engineering practices for an enterprise-wide data and automation platform. This role is deeply hands‑on building automated test suites, integrating quality checks into CI/CD pipelines, & driving shift-left testing with the engineering team.

TESTING RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop test strategies:
Create & implement comprehensive test plans & strategies for projects & application components
  • Ensure the successful execution of various tests, including manual and automated, functional, and regression testing
  • Lead the design and implementation of test automation frameworks and solutions to improve efficiency and prevent regressions
  • Find, report, and track bugs and issues, ensuring proper severity levels and clear steps to reproduce them
  • Work to ensure the overall quality of the product, often with a focus on non-functional requirements like accessibility and performance testing
REPORTING & TRACKING
  • Collaborate with other teams:
    Partner with engineering, product, etc.
  • Continuously identify gaps and opportunities to improve QA processes, methodologies, and efficiency
  • Produce status reports, communicate test results, and provide insights on product quality to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Define and drive the adoption of quality metrics to measure test effectiveness and overall product quality
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing documentation, including test cases, plans, and scripts
REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field is typically required
  • 5 years of experience in software quality assurance or test automation
  • Testing types:
Experience with functional, regression, performance, load, API (Experience with REST API testing using Postman, or similar tools) and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Testing methodologies:
Deep knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Test automation:
Expertise in test automation libraries (e.g. unittest, PyTest, coverage etc.) and frameworks (DRF Test Suite, pytest-django etc.) and proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, C#, or Java Script
  • Tools:
Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., JIRA), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)

This role is critical in ensuring platform components meet functional, performance, and security standards through engineering-driven quality practices rather than manual test coverage oversight.
