General Education Instructional Assistant

REPORTS TO: Building Principal
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: Based on Classified Pay Model
WORK CALENDAR: 183 Days Monday - Thursday
STANDARD HOURS: 6.75 Hours/Day
PERF: CPCSC is a Non-PERF District

Position Overview
Education instructional assistants will support all students by implementing and enforcing The Warrior Way across all school settings. These IAs will facilitate structured lunch and recess procedures as part of the daily duty teams, maintaining consistent expectations and operations among students and staff members. Other duties will include beginning and end of the day operations and other needs unique to each building’s schedule and needs.

They will work under the direction of the building principal or designee.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional assistance as needed.
  • Follow the IEP as written and developed by the teacher of record.
  • Perform all duties as indicated by the supervising teachers and the administration.

Qualifications

  • The preferred candidate will be a licensed elementary teacher; at least 48 college credits; an associates degree or willing to take and achieve a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment prior to beginning work.
  • The preferred candidate will have experience working with elementary aged children.
  • The preferred candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively.
