Reports to: Building Principal.
FLSA Classification: Hourly Non‑Exempt.
Compensation: Classified Pay Model.
Work Calendar: 183 days.
Standard
Hours:
6.75 hours/day.
PERF: CPCSC is a Non‑PERF District.
Special Education assistants will support students who receive special education services. Schedules are driven by students’ needs, which are ever‑changing. Assistants will work both in and out of resource/special education classrooms. Duties include push‑in inclusion support, resource room small group/behavior/instructional supports, sensory integration support, and other special education services as needed. They will work under the direction of the teacher or record.
Professional development focus includes IEPs, behavior plans, related services, teaching support strategies, de‑escalation, and other relevant training.
- Supervise and tutor students with special needs.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small group instruction to students in need.
- Respect the individual’s right to privacy.
- Participate in staff development programs.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Building Principal.
- Experience working with students with special needs.
- Teacher’s license preferred.
