Job Description- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations of all students referred for evaluation or reevaluation within assigned schools or other sources as needed, adhering to state timelines and the South Carolina Standards for Evaluation and Eligibility Determination (SEED) document.
- Interpret and document assessment findings in written report form (using district software programs such as Enrich) for all students evaluated.
- Review assessment results with IEP teams and make recommendations to assist referred students.
- Schedule, arrange, and conduct IEP meetings for initial evaluation planning and eligibility determination, documenting information accordingly. Participate in additional IEP meetings as needed (e.g., manifestation determination reviews, reevaluation reviews, LRE changes).
- Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all legal and procedural requirements for students with disabilities under federal, state, and district policies and procedures.
- Work cooperatively with school staff, parents, and local agencies as needed.
- Assist in planning and conducting in-service programs and workshops for special education teachers and staff, as determined by the Director of Special Services.
- Carry out all professional assignments as directed by the Director of Special Services and/or designee.
- Consult with other school psychologists regarding best practices as needed.
- Provide consultation on the educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students—including those in general education, those considered at-risk, and those with special education needs—as part of a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS), including the School Intervention Team (SIT) process.
- Participate in parent conferences as requested.
- Serve on school threat assessment teams and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Participate in recommended trainings and professional development opportunities.
- Serve as a resource for teachers and other school personnel regarding students’ disabilities and educational needs.
- Collaborate with the district’s team of school psychologists to plan and organize psychological services for the district.
