We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our customer’s Iron Foundry operations. This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer with a strong background in equipment installation, process optimization, and safety improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational excellence, ensuring safe and efficient manufacturing processes, and supporting capital projects from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage equipment installation projects, including planning, vendor coordination, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Drive safety improvement initiatives across foundry operations, including risk assessments, hazard mitigation, and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and cost‑efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for new and existing equipment.
- Support capital project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and technical documentation.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support for maintenance and operations teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Ensure all engineering activities align with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices and safety protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering (or related field).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within an iron foundry or heavy industrial environment.
- Proven experience in equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards, including OSHA regulations and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as Solid Works or Creo, project management tools, and data analysis platforms.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with automation and control systems in foundry operations.
