Job SummaryProvides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Provides preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages efficient pharmacy workflow, improves pharmacy financials, inventory, and patient experience.

Pharmacy Manager $5,863.20 – $6,438.20 Bi-Weekly
Responsibilities- Engage patients by greeting and offering assistance; resolve issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
- Model and share customer service best practices, demonstrating curiosity, empathy, inclusivity, and Walgreens service traits.
- Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services; lead efforts to enhance patient experience by increasing awareness of healthcare services offered through Walgreens.
- Participate in community events as requested by Store Manager, Healthcare Supervisor, or District Manager.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generics, and over-the-counter products; refer to provider as needed.
- Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
- Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications.
- Ensure pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards; establish efficient workflow procedures and oversee staff scheduling and activities.
- Use Good Faith Dispensing policy and state/federal controlled substance laws when filling prescriptions.
- Collaborate with Store Manager to define and develop new strategic business opportunities.
- Maintain IT knowledge of pharmacy systems; support staff and patients; find opportunities to improve productivity.
- Process insurance claims accurately; resolve patient issues with insurers and providers; conduct third-party audits.
- Follow up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions; suggest alternatives; answer provider questions.
- Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and other healthcare services.
- Partner with centralized support for patient registration and exception resolution.
- Manage maintenance, housekeeping, repairs, and layout changes to ensure a functional pharmacy.
- Prepare and submit records and reports required by state and federal laws (operating statements, performance reports, supervision notes, etc.).
- Collaborate with Store Manager on pharmacy staff hiring, discipline, and termination, ensuring compliance with employment laws.
- Establish staff expectations and goals; monitor and recognize improvements; manage performance including training and formal reviews.
- Identify high-potential team members and collaborate on career progression.
- Address employee relations concerns and maintain morale through welfare checks and conflict resolution.
- Maintain required licensing, credentialing, and certification; stay current with pharmacy and healthcare knowledge through journals and training.
- Complete required education credits and training modules.
- Seek professional development and leverage mentors and coaches.
- Communicate corporate health and wellness services or strategy information to pharmacy staff.
- Analyze performance data (financials, customer service, inventory); manage asset protection and inventory; identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local medical community; promote pharmacy business and visibility in the community.
- BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited institution.
- Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
- Certified immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
- At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software, and insurance billing.
- Experience dispensing activities demonstrating knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
- Average rating of at least 3.0 on leadership behaviors in last performance review (if applicable) and no written disciplinary actions in last 12 months (internal candidates only).
- Supervisory experience in planning, organizing, and directing pharmacy staff.
- At least 6 months pharmacy experience with Walgreens Co.
- Average rating of 3.7 or above on leadership behaviors in last performance review (internal candidates only).
