What We're Looking For

Countybank is seeking a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented individual to serve as a Personal Lines Sales Representative working with our Countybanc Insurance Team. The Person al Lines Sales Representative will report to the Insurance Division Executive. The Person al Lines Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting, soliciting, quoting, and selling new and renewal accounts. Specific sales goals and service responsibilities are required in this position and determined during the yearly planning process.

Service and sales standards must be met with emphasis placed on the quality of the insurance product presented to the client.

Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain a solid book of business for existing clients and grow new business base through a range of networking and sales tactics, including cold calling and prospecting for potential customers to effectively articulate the company’s competitive advantage and new products.
  • Gather all the necessary information to evaluate the needs of the client against available insurance products and negotiate the terms and conditions with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and present risk management assessments to advise clients on ways to minimize and avoid claims.
  • Remain educated on all insurance coverage provisions, the overall insurance industry, regulations, and pertinent legislation to ensure customers understand their coverage terms and insurance services in the process.
  • Deliver a high level of personal attention to prospective and existing customers, personally visiting them to follow up as needed, and provide coaching management on commercial insurance policy options upon request.
  • Assists in the development of the sales objectives. Meets the forecasted premium volume and commission growth goals as established with Agency Manager.
  • Creates and maintains prospect and suspect lists.
  • Request referrals from existing client base and respond to the referrals quickly and effectively.
  • Pre‑qualifies insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk.
  • Identifies the client’s insurance needs, gaps in coverage, and loss exposures (insurable and uninsurable).
  • Obtains accurate information from the prospects; including completing applications, supplemental questionnaires, risk surveys, and other related documentation in order to provide complete, comprehensive submissions.
  • Designs insurance programs and recommends insurance coverage to clients.
  • Meets agency standards for account receivables.
  • Participates in community activities.
  • Reviews client’s insurance programs annually and makes recommendations.
  • Accurately documents client files and electronic files as to coverage discussions, quotes, declination, and coverage change or declined.
  • Maintain a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with clients, agency, and company personnel to minimize potentials for error or omission claims.
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • State‑issued, valid insurance license(s) required:
    Property and Casualty Insurance License. CIC designation preferred.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry as an insurance producer for commercial lines.
  • A thorough understanding of applicable insurance company policies and insurance coverage offerings, including their costs and benefits.
  • Understanding of personal insurance underwriting, coverage & rate analysis
  • Knowledge of insurance coverages and an ability to communicate this clearly to clients and underwriters, or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Abilities and Skills
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality and a professional demeanor in all situations.
