Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Division Sales Engineer. This position offers a HYBRID work schedule at our Greenwood, SC Eaton location. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates within the United States.

The Division Sales Engineer’s primary responsibility is to manage the assigned customer base to increase sales in the local marketplace and provide sales and technical assistance. The Sales Engineer will sell assigned product lines to targeted customers in a targeted Market Area. The position’s primary objective is to optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin. Specific functions include driving increase in sales in the marketplace, managing all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance with distributors, customers, end users, and specifiers.

A proven record of achieving assigned sales quota is required. Duties also include preparing and presenting bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines, supporting total quality efforts, ensuring accurate information flows to and from customers, and collecting, analyzing, and utilizing market intelligence regarding competitors.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000‑$126,000. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What You’ll Do
  • Establish and maintain the highest possible commercial relations with present and potential customers by effectively employing salesmanship, application engineering, product knowledge, and an understanding of customers’ businesses and organizations.
  • Interpret incoming orders for proper content, price, and compliance with terms and conditions before acceptance at division.
  • Review customer project specifications and interpret complex electrical and mechanical drawings to create a detailed bill of materials and bid quotation package.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure resources are available to support customer commitments and interpret incoming division quotations for proper content and price.
  • Focus on quotation efforts to ensure timely quotation responses.
  • Act as a technical and commercial liaison, communicating between sales reps, field sales, end users/customers, distributors, and other product line functions.
  • Recommend changes or modifications in products, policies, or procedures to improve productivity.
  • Contribute to sales plans by evaluating competitive situations, reporting new product requirements, tracking negotiations, and analyzing success/failure.
  • Develop and assist in presenting programs to promote product acceptance at customer locations, sales offices, trade shows, training seminars, and corporate meetings.
  • Complete all requested reports professionally and timely.
  • Coordinate special projects within the product line.
Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years prior electrical sales experience or related product experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Previous outside sales experience in electrical distribution products or switch gear.
  • Previous Medium Voltage Switchgear experience.
