Job Summary
:
The Head Girls Volleyball Coach is responsible for coaching student‑athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for competitive play. The coach fosters a positive environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and a love for the sport.
- Evaluate players’ skills and assign team positions accordingly.
- Develop and maintain a consistent practice schedule focused on both individual and team development.
- Coordinate with the Athletic Director to schedule practice times and competition facilities.
- Provide instruction to players—individually and in groups—on rules, strategies, techniques, and proper equipment use.
- Determine game strategies based on team capabilities.
- Communicate with parents/guardians as needed regarding student performance and development.
- Ensure compliance with all district, regional, and state athletic regulations.
- Demonstrate good sportsmanship and maintain professional conduct with players, officials, and spectators.
- Oversee the care, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
- Participate in school activities such as Parent Night, team banquets, award ceremonies, and pep assemblies.
- Maintain accurate records, including eligibility forms, emergency contacts, insurance documents, and equipment inventory.
- Attend staff development sessions, coaching clinics, and other professional growth opportunities.
Supervises assistant coaches and is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and performance of the volleyball program.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
:
Valid teaching certification preferred. Must demonstrate professionalism in working with students, staff, and the public both in person and by phone.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with and adherence to district policies and Board of Education guidelines.
