Position Overview: The Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor is responsible for assisting the senior pastor with administrative duties and providing leadership. Must maintain complete confidentiality, assist as needed, and serve as a helpful interface with the congregation and the senior pastor.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
- Schedule meetings for the pastors with visitors wishing to join the church. Coordinate with families to complete paperwork and provide necessary information.
- Manage the Senior Pastor’s calendar, including church meetings. Handle emails and phone calls to free the pastor for visionary leadership.
- Meet weekly with the Senior Pastor to prioritize tasks and communicate behind-the-scenes updates.
- Attend weekly staff and pastor meetings, as well as committee meetings such as Chairperson’s, Lay Nominations, Church Council, and Worship Planning.
- Assist the Senior Pastor with weekly sermon notes and finalization.
- Send weekly emails to new visitors and thank you letters to first-time givers.
- Support during worship services and serve as gatekeeper for the Senior Pastor, ensuring timely assistance to visitors and congregation.
- Maintain files, databases, and prepare correspondence, reports, and documents as needed.
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to recommend church members for committees.
- Assist in preparing for meetings and events, including producing documents, ordering meals, and reminders.
Education and Experience: A strong spiritual background and commitment to the church are essential. A minimum of three years of management experience and a bachelor’s degree in business or a related field are required. Proven leadership, judgment, integrity, and confidentiality are necessary. Proficiency with workplace technologies such as email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ACS software (preferred) is required.
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
