About Us

DARKSTAR MACHINATIONS is a boutique jewelry brand that fuses the elegance of old-world craftsmanship with futuristic design. Our aesthetic draws from mythology, sci-fi, fantasy, historical armor, and classic forms—resulting in bold, handcrafted jewelry for the classy nerd and the modern mystic alike.

Using copper, brass, aluminum, and silver, we create unique ear cuffs, hand pieces, hair sticks, belly chains, brooches, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, pendants, rings, and more. All pieces are handcrafted in our studio using a blend of traditional and modern metalworking techniques.

We primarily sell at art shows, festivals, and fantasy/historical-themed events, with select offerings available online and through wholesale partners.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our small but passionate team. This is a hands-on, part-time contract position based in our Greer, SC studio.

You’ll assist with the day-to-day creation and assembly of our jewelry, maintain studio organization, and help ensure our pieces meet the highest standards of craftsmanship. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has a strong attention to detail, and appreciates the artistry behind handmade jewelry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic jewelry production and assembly
• Monitor and maintain quality control standards
• Track supplies and alert when materials need replenishing
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and functional
• Work collaboratively with the lead designer and other team members
• Handle small, detailed components with care and precision
• Maintain focus on repetitive tasks for extended periods

Qualifications

• Experience in crafting, DIY projects, fine art, or jewelry making
• Comfort working with small parts and delicate materials
• High attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Able to stay focused on tasks for 3–6 hour shifts
• Passion for jewelry, costuming, or fantasy/scifi aesthetics
