Job Description

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) supports electronic repair operations by providing advanced technical expertise, process guidance, and oversight training. This role serves as a technical authority for repair workmanship standards, ESD and soldering programs, and technician capability development. The SME also provides defined technical support to Value-Added Services (VAS) Late Configuration Camera activities and Corrective Action Request (CAR) rework impacting both ASA and VAS.

This is a technical support and oversight role, not a production or supervisory position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve repair work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex repair and rework issues.
  • Own and maintain ESD and soldering standards and training programs.
  • Deliver structured technical training for repair technicians.
  • Support corrective actions and rework activities related to CARs across ASA and VAS.
  • Provide technical support to VAS Late Configuration Camera processes, limited to guidance, interpretation, and defect resolution.
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to improve workmanship consistency, reduce rework, and support compliance.
Scope & Authority
  • Provides technical guidance and oversight only; does not own production execution or scheduling.
  • Does not perform inspection sign-off, product release, or return-to-service authority unless separately delegated.
  • Does not have direct supervisory responsibility.
What We Offer
  • A highly technical, non-production role with broad influence across repair and rework operations.
  • Opportunity to shape workmanship standards, training programs, and process improvements.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional engineering, quality, and operations teams.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology required, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronics or aftermarket repair environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ESD controls and soldering best practices required.
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent solder certification strongly preferred.
  • Trainer certification preferred, or attainable within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to create technical documentation and deliver hands‑on training required.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills required.
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required.
