Job Summary:

We are seeking Automotive Mechanics to join our team at First Assured Quality Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, mechanical systems, and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while following company safety standards and quality requirements.

Shift:

Shift A: 6:45 am - 5:25 pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends

Pay: $24.00 -$28.00 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical problems involving vehicles, engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and other automotive systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing on vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system malfunctions.
• Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and specialized automotive equipment to identify, and correct problems.
• Repair or replace defective components, parts, and assemblies as needed.
• Support production operations by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and mechanical issues.
• Conduct inspections and operational tests to verify that repairs meet quality and performance standards.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, parts usage, and inspection results.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with production operators, maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify recurring mechanical problems and recommend improvements to prevent future failures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED; technical training in automotive technology
• Proven experience as an automotive mechanic for 3+ years
• Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in automotive techniques.
• Knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Experience with German vehicles is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, mechanical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or work weekends as required by plant.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move tools, equipment, and automotive components within established safety limits.
• Ability to work around moving machinery, noise, oils, lubricants, and other industrial materials while wearing required personal protective equipment.
• Steel toe boots/shoes are required to be worn.
