Quality Assurance Lead

St. George’s University invites applicants for the position of QA Lead within the Office of Information Technology.

The Quality Assurance Lead manages a team of functional testers responsible for testing software components to ensure that enterprise systems and programs perform as per the designed specifications and business requirements.

• Lead a team of functional testers who serve as software testers of new and existing enterprise systems, utilizing a variety of technologies, including responsive design systems, mobile devices, web services, and ETL jobs
• Create test case templates to facilitate the mapping of manual test cases to automation test cases
• Participate in discussions with cross-functional leaders using strong communication skills to determine requirements for testing needs within a system or platform feature
• Implement End-to-End Test Automation and Tools Strategies/Roadmaps, including performance and load testing
• Investigate issues identified during automation testing and document the factors leading to errors
• Develop test scripts and load models for performance testing based on system requirements, processes, and user stories
• Ensure that performance testing results are accurately reported and documented, collaborating across system development teams to troubleshoot and identify performance bottlenecks
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to coordinate and establish deployment schedules.
• Develop and maintain software test plans, test cases, scripts, and scenarios in accordance with current procedures and methodologies to accurately describe test scope and test schedules. Schedule assignments to the team and adjust priorities as needed
• Provide a risk assessment on the defects identified and set the correct priority and severity
• Provide a holistic assessment of data quality based upon the existing implementation vs new feature development
• Administer performance degradation diagnostics/troubleshooting and propose viable explanations to developers
• Stay current on recent and emerging trends with respect to software testing, and evaluate them for implementation for continuous process improvement
• Participates in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process improvement initiatives to provide gap analysis and recommendations for the resolution of issues
• Conduct compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs
• Monitor program performance after implementation to prevent recurrence of program operating problems and ensure the efficiency of operation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Demonstrated experience working in an Agile software development methodology
• Demonstrated experience with: API Testing, Regression Testing, Quality Assurance Services,
• Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills. Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities based on institutional need.
• Desire for continual professional growth and self-motivation to achieve goals.

• A typical work week is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
• Flexible hours required to implement strategy, enterprise initiatives, and execute deliverables
• Must be flexible in coming in early, working late, or during non-work hours as needed

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar technical degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five (5) plus years of experience in functional system testing, including planning, assessments, script development & maintenance, preferably in a cloud environment
• Minimum of five (5) plus years of experience with testing large-scale systems
