Position: Engineer Bike & Parts 100%

Short & brief

BMC is one of the world’s leading performance cycling brands — born in Switzerland, engineered in the pioneering Impec Lab, and powered by our mission to Create Speed. Every BMC bike is the result of Swiss precision, advanced composite engineering, and an uncompromising pursuit of performance.

Our headquarters and R&D center in Grenchen bring together innovation, craftsmanship, and technology under one roof. Here, athletes, creatives, engineers, and dreamers collaborate to shape the future of cycling.

We do not want someone who simply develops products.

You are curious enough to challenge assumptions and confident enough to make technical decisions. You combine engineering rigor with practical problem solving and a passion for innovation.

What we are looking for:

An engineer who combines technical expertise with a genuine passion for bicycles.

Analytical
- You solve complex technical challenges with a structured and practical approach.

Proactive
- You take ownership and drive projects forward independently.

Collaborative
- You work effectively across teams, suppliers, and development partners.

You understand bicycle technology because you live it and ride it.

You understand product performance, materials, manufacturing, engineering trade-offs, and rider expectations.

Your profil

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, Industrial Design Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development, mechanical engineering, or bicycle engineering.
  • Expert Solid Works skills including complex part, assembly, and surface modeling.
  • Strong understanding of bicycle technology, mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Fluent English;
    German is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel.

If you believe great products are created through engineering excellence, rider understanding, and attention to detail, we'd like to hear from you.

What is yours:

Engineer and develop innovative bicycle components and assemblies from concept through production release.

You will lead engineering projects across the development process, ensuring products meet performance, quality, manufacturability, cost, and timeline objectives while working closely with Product Management, suppliers, testing partners, and manufacturing teams.

  • Develop and validate bicycle components, assemblies, and accessories.
  • Create advanced 3D CAD models and technical documentation using Solid Works.
  • Manage development projects from concept through industrialization and production release.
  • Define validation plans, analyze test results, and drive engineering improvements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners in Europe and Asia.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across existing products and platforms.
