Compensation: 100 Contract days, Temporary Contract  School Year Only – Salary and stipends will be prorated based on FTE and start/end dates of the position. 2025‑2026 Annual Salary Range: $27,507 – $54,479 (based on 192/193 Day Contract). Eligible for a specialty stipend of $1,041 if certified multilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Ukrainian, or Russian (must pass standardized proficiency test).

Job Summary: The Teacher – Physical Education will develop students’ physical skills and abilities through the implementation of district‑approved curriculum, document teaching and student progress, foster leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills, and provide a safe learning environment while giving feedback to students, parents, and administration.

• Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress to support teacher's expectations, develop improvement methods, and reinforce classroom goals.
• Assembles and maintains equipment (e.g., volleyball, soccer, badminton) for instruction.
• Assesses students to provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding progress, expectations, and goals.
• Collaborates with school personnel, parents, and community agencies to improve student outcomes and plan curriculum.
• Instructs students to develop physical skills and abilities.
• Participates with students in group activities to develop leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills.
• Prepares teaching materials and reports (grades, attendance, anecdotal records) to implement lesson plans and document progress.
• Reports incidents (fights, suspected abuse, substance abuse) to maintain personal safety and uphold education code and district policies.

• Counsels students to improve performance, health status, problem‑solving, and non‑school issues.
• Assists other personnel as required to support completion of work activities.
• Participates in meetings (parent conferences, training, site meetings) to receive or provide information and meet credential requirements.

• Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Motivate students, communicate across diverse backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance, and demonstrate activities.
  • Knowledge of team‑sport rules, general health issues, age‑appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum, and education code.
  • Ability to walk for prolonged periods, work outdoors, demonstrate PE skills, supervise large numbers of students, perform specialized responsibilities, maintain records, and establish cooperative relationships with students, parents, and staff. Significant physical abilities include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, reaching, hearing, and visual acuity.

• Appropriate teaching credential for special subject, Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance.
• State of Oregon teaching license with Physical Education PK‑12 endorsement and current First Aid card.
