Position:
Teacher – Grades 3-5 (4th Grade) at Hall Elementary School. 100 contract days, Temporary Contract School Year Only. 1.00 FTE. Final date to receive applications:

Qualifications: State of Oregon Teaching License with Elementary Multiple Subjects PK-12 endorsement and current First Aid Card.
Compensation: Salary and stipends prorated based on FTE and start/end dates. Annual Salary Range: $27,507 – $54,479 based on 192/193 day contract. Specialty stipend of $1,041 for certified Multilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Ukrainian, or Russian (must pass a standardized proficiency test).
Job Summary: The Teacher – Grades 4 is responsible for improving student success in academics by implementing district‑approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress; developing lesson plans; modeling skills; providing a safe learning environment; and giving feedback to students, parents, and administration.
Essential Job Functions:
- Teach reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, music, physical education, and health education in line with district goals.
- Provide planned learning experiences to motivate students and maximize instructional time.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials for individualized and small group instruction.
- Lead students through the development and evaluation of work samples.
- Supervise and administer Oregon Statewide Assessments, including preparation, logistics, and security.
- Monitor classroom and playground activities to ensure a safe environment.
- Plan and coordinate work of educational assistants or other paraprofessionals.
- Keep accurate records and reports on student growth.
- Evaluate instructional programs and adapt materials for diverse learners.
- Maintain standards of student behavior for a functional learning environment.
- Incorporate new materials and processes.
- Participate in evaluation of materials, equipment, and textbooks.
- Create an active, responsive climate for learning through positive rapport.
- Communicate with parents through various means and hold parent conferences.
- Participate regularly in in‑service at school and district levels.
- Engage in curriculum and developmental programs at school or district level.
- Meet state standards for competent and ethical performance.
Other Job Functions:
- Plan with and supervise student teachers in classroom.
- Evaluate student teachers.
- Select books, instructional aids, and supplies; recommend purchases.
- Supervise students in and out of classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, correct records as required by law and district policy.
- Confere with colleagues, administrators, students, and parents.
- Participate in meetings (parent conferences, in‑service training, site meetings, etc.).
- Present a positive teacher image to the community.
- Impart district philosophies as appropriate.
- Ensure a comfortable, orderly, and attractive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with staff to help students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Establish good relationships through faculty committees and meetings.
- Participate in professional organizations.
- Share in the sponsorship of student activities.
- Duty may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at district discretion.
Essential Job Requirements – Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students.
- Understanding and relating to needs of students of diverse backgrounds.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, co‑workers, and supervisors.
- Skills in planning, developing, and implementing curriculum; effective communication.
- Knowledge of instructional theory, best practices, and district, state, and federal education laws.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, handle, talk, hear, and maintain visual acuity.
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Licenses, Bonding and/or Testing Required:
- Appropriate teacher’s license.
- Highly Qualified Status for assignment.
- Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid certificates.
- Blood‑borne pathogen training as appropriate.
