Compensation

Annual Salary Range: $15,329 - $29,963.83 (Based on 192/193 day contract). Initial placement on the salary schedule is based on education and contracted licensed experience. Compensation may be prorated based on FTE and start/end dates.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • State of Oregon Teaching License with English Language Arts K-12 and current First Aid Card
  • Teaching Credential for the appropriate level of instruction and/or subjects
  • Highly Qualified Status for assignment
  • Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance
  • CPR and First Aid Certificates

Responsibilities
  • Help each pupil develop competence in subject matter skills; motivate each pupil to apply understanding and skills in the solution of problems; develop good relationships with parents and with other staff members
  • Teach courses to secondary pupils using the course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines
  • Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study
  • Develop lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids
  • Demonstrate concepts using models, chalkboard, projector, and other instructional aids
  • Provide opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
  • Design learning activities that relate the subject area to the physical world
  • Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment
  • Evaluate pupil progress and prepare progress reports; may prepare letters of recommendation for scholarships, college applications
  • Perform basic attendance accounting and business services as required
  • May plan and coordinate the work of aides or other paraprofessionals
  • Communicate with parents to interpret teaching methods and discuss pupil progress with parents and school counselors
  • Identify pupil needs and cooperate with professional staff to address health, attitude, and learning problems
  • Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the day
  • Maintain professional competence through in-service education or self-selected professional growth activities
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the discretion of management
  • Attend and participate in meetings and credential activities as required
  • Share in sponsorship of student activities and participate in faculty committees

    Required:

    Motivate students, effective communication with diverse backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, and instructional subjects
  • Abilities to stand and walk for prolonged periods; manage records; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; lift/carry/reach/handle; and visual/hearing/communication abilities
Other
  • Education Required:

    Bachelor’s Degree
