. The Dietary Aide assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of food and serve meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and sanitation practices.
  • Deliver meals to resident rooms or tables and set up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards, ensuring residents receive proper diets and preferences in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining room clean and sanitary at all times, including work areas and floors.
  • Clean utensils, dishes, and pots and pans by operating the dishwasher or proper handwashing processes, ensuring the dishwasher is working properly and at the appropriate temperature, and recording temperature.
  • Store, rotate, prepare, and label food in accordance with State and local guidelines and Prestige policy, discarding outdated food.
  • Partner with dietary staff to ensure equipment is working properly and at the appropriate temperature, recording temperatures and reporting faulty equipment immediately.
  • Follow facility fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices and promptly report unsafe conditions.
  • Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respecting dignity, meeting confidentiality standards, and promoting resident and staff rights.
  • Reset the dining room for the next meal and ensure supplies are available for upcoming meals.
  • Assist in storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in training, in‑services, and staff meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Experience
  • Must have a Food Handler Permit as required by the State.
  • Some high school education preferred.
