As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will report directly to the Facilities Manager and will be required to perform a variety of facilities preventative and corrective maintenance activities. This position is for a compressed work week with the expectation to be flexible and cover vacations/callouts on opposing shifts when needed.
Responsibilities include:
- Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Support the maintenance, operation and repair of all systems, subsystems, and equipment within the Onsemi campus.
- Ensure all equipment and associated subsystems are operated and maintained.
- Evaluate the operation of all systems and associated subsystems, identify specific process improvement needs and provide recommendations for system upgrades.
- Perform Confined Space Entry on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all UPW (Ultra-Pure Water) and WWT (Waste Water Treatment) systems and associated subsystem equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Complete preventive maintenance and documentation in a timely manner following all documentation guidelines.
- Work in close proximity to hazardous chemicals, high and low temperature liquids, gases and machinery/equipment.
- Provide diagnostics, repair and modifications of industrial equipment.
- Work directly with Facilities Engineering and various organizations on system installations or modifications and maximizing equipment availability.
Specific Skills Required:
- Must be able to stand/work for up to 12 hours, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Willing and able to perform work from a ladder or man lift.
- Must be able to work from detailed blueprints, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, building codes, or work orders and follow written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to build and sustain positive and collaborative working relationships with a wide range of peers, customers, and constituents.
- Experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of a WWT (Waste Water Treatment) system.
- Experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of a UPW (Ultra-Pure Water) system.
- Able to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Products.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience.
- Trade school is a plus.
