The Mobile Sexual Assault Response Advocate will provide on‑site crisis intervention services within Multnomah County, including advocacy, access to emergency medical services, assistance with interacting with law enforcement and the criminal justice system, and support for survivors of all ages.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Respond to requests for on‑site advocacy by local hospitals, clinics, law enforcement agencies, homeless shelters, schools and other non‑DVSA community providers seeking support for SA survivors within Multnomah County. After hours and weekend availability may be required.
- Provide crisis counseling, advocacy, access to emergency medical services to address short‑ and long‑term effects of sexual trauma and assist survivors with developing a safety plan.
- Advocate with and for survivors as appropriate to create an individualized case plan. Advocacy may include assistance with protective orders, assistance filing Crime Victim's Compensation, filing police reports, obtaining safe housing, connection to legal resources, and obtaining other services as needed.
- Assess survivor needs/issues and determine appropriate plan of action for resolution.
- Advocate will help increase services to underserved and marginalized communities in Multnomah County through participation in community outreach events.
- Maintain assigned caseload of survivors of sexual assault, including case plan development, regular and ongoing contact with the participant, and all other relevant documentation.
- Participate in community meetings with other social service organizations to promote the agency as an identifiable resource for Latine survivors of sexual assault and maintain timely and cooperative contact with outside agencies.
- Participate in various team projects including team meetings, coordination and implementation of pertinent activities.
- Support the organization in maintenance of updated resource materials for participant needs.
- Assist with information and referral, short‑term and long‑term intervention as appropriate to help participants gain greater access to services.
- Maintain documentation consistent with El Programa Hispano Católico's Social Service Delivery Procedures and other applicable standards.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi‑culturally competent.
- Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
- Bachelor's degree in social services field or 2 years of experience providing case management and intervention services, preferably with survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence, preferred.
- Knowledge of local Latine community issues as they relate to domestic/sexual violence.
- 40‑hour DV/SA Advocacy training to be completed within 1st month of hire.
- Data entry and database management experience, preferred.
- Strong proficiency in all programs of Microsoft Office.
