We are seeking a Child Welfare Services Assistant to join our team. This position provides essential transportation and hands‑on support services to assist children, families, and professional staff in meeting care, visitation, and daily living needs.
This position is located in Gretna, LA in.gradle Parish Child Welfare Office. No experience or training is required.
Necessary Special RequirementPossession of a current driver's license.
Job Duties- Transports clients to visits with siblings, schools, clinics, doctor's offices, or other identified needs.
- Maintains a schedule of arranged client transportationస్య follow‑up visits.
- Maintains the upkeep of assigned state vehicles and records related information.
- Assists and supports professional staff in service delivery.
- Instructs parental caregivers in practical applications of improved standards of housekeeping, shopping, financial planning, personal hygiene, medical care, childcare, and other necessary home‑management skills when identified as a need.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Appointment Type:
This position may be filled as a probationary appointment or as a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probationary appointments. It may also be 니 dealt as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.

Work Schedule:
Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday‑Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and depend on the position you are applying for. Some év require working shifts.

This position is located in Gretna, LA in the Jefferson Parish Child Welfare Office.
* In accordance with La. R.S. 46:51.2 the department shall conduct a State Central Registry (SCR) check for a potential employee of the department to determine whether or not said individual's name appears on an SCR board after December 31, 2009. Selected candidates must pass a drug test, criminal background, state central registry and Louisiana State Police sex offender and child predator registry before any final offer.
