Job SummaryThis job follows established procedures and, under the supervision of the shift supervisor, provides security for patients, employees, as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Enforces company policies and procedures and performs assigned duties that ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

EducationRequired:
High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Previous experience as a currently armed police officer with a Louisiana or Federal Law Enforcement Agency (reserve status is acceptable) and having arrest power and assigned in an active law enforcement capacity.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Certified Police Officer of Standard Training Policy Academy (state, federal, or military).
- Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification or Military Police equivalent.
- Valid Louisiana driver's license and clean DMV report.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and firearms training.
- International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment.
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Proficiency with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
- Team A Essential Personnel; must report for duty in the event of a disaster.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (e.g., 24/7, weekend, holiday, on-call availability).
- Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations and policies on company property.
- Conduct routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
- Investigate accidents and incidents as assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
- Perform safety and security related duties as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within required time periods.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, method of introduction, adapting explanation of services or procedures, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Other related duties as required.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue may occur. Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications may exist.
