Job Description

We are currently recruiting Parcel Sorters for our client, a busy 24-hour logistics operation based in the Carlisle area.

This is a face-paced hands on warehouse role suited to reliable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and can work effectively as part of a team.

You will be responsible for sorting, handling and preparing parcels for distribution, helping to ensure that deliveries are processed accurately and dispatched on time.

The role involves regular manual handling, including bending, lifting, twisting and moving parcels. Candidates must be comfortable undertaking physically demanding work and following safe manual handling procedures.

Please note: Due to the rural location and limited public transport, applicants must have their own reliable transport to travel to and from the site, particularly for night shifts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, unload and sort incoming parcels and deliveries.
  • Check goods for damage, discrepancies or missing items.
  • Pick, pack, label and prepare parcels for dispatch.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Move stock and parcels around the warehouse as required.
  • Use handheld scanners and basic warehouse equipment when required.
  • Assist with stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organised and tidy.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
  • Report damaged goods, faulty equipment or any issues to a supervisor.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. JDR Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
