Night shift (United States of America).

The Laboratory Technical Supervisor is responsible for the specific section or discipline assigned. They are the technical resource for technologists, technicians, and assistants, and the subject‑matter expert for their discipline. The supervisor oversees analyzer operation, assay performance, staff supervision, and maintains accreditation readiness. Additional duties include human‑resource functions such as scheduling, payroll, and performance evaluation.

• Technical Oversight:
  • Demonstrate theoretical knowledge and critical thinking in the area of expertise.
  • Work directly with Pathologists on research of new assays, recalls, and errors.
  • Determine rules and algorithms to maintain acceptable test parameters.
  • Analyze statistical data (variance, mean, coefficient of variation) and interpret graphs to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure readiness for accreditation inspections.
• Analyzer Maintenance:
  • Maintain peak operation of analyzers.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and stop production if necessary.
  • Initiate repairs, validate functionality, and provide data to accrediting agencies.
  • Manage assays, perform correlations, linearity, calibrations, and parallel studies per standards.
  • Assist in procedural selections, analyzer selection, and implementation of new methods.
  • Handle recalls as needed.
• Supervision:
  • Supervise technologists, technicians, and support specialists on shift.
  • Schedule personnel fairly, minimizing overtime.
  • Provide training, coaching, counseling, and competency assessments.
  • Maintain payroll and drive employee engagement through action planning.
  • Document initial competency for all employees/students.
  • Collaborate with Shift Supervisors to maintain 24/7 system goals.
• Performance Improvement and Quality Management:
  • Incorporate quality philosophies into daily routines.
  • Initiate improvements for turnaround time, accuracy, and sensitivity.
  • Educate peers on customer‑service and performance improvement.
  • Encourage employee involvement and provide constructive feedback.
  • Respond to error‑management systems and corrective actions.
• Customer Service and Team Performance:
  • Maintain established turnaround times.
  • Greet everyone, treat customers as guests, and maintain a positive impression.
  • Communicate effectively and manage service recovery situations.
  • Lead engagement programs and practice a team‑centered approach.
  • Self‑manage time and resources, uphold confidentiality, and follow policies.
• General Duties:
  • Maintain attendance and punctuality per system policy.
  • Adhere to dress code and display .
  • Keep work area organized and clean.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all policies, standards, and conduct expectations.

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related subject

• HT(ASCP) – Histotechnician
• MLA – Medical Lab Assistant
• MLS(ASCP) – Medical Laboratory Scientist
• MLS(AMT) – Medical Laboratory Scientist
• MT(AMT) – Medical Technologist
• MT(ASCP) – Medical Technologist
• MT(HEW) – Medical Technologist

• Minimum 5 years of pertinent experience in laboratory medicine.

• Supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
