Speech Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and develops individualized treatment plans for patients with speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing challenges. They collaborate with physicians to establish goals, implement therapy, and adjust plans based on patient progress. Services are provided across outpatient and acute settings, including training in modified barium swallow studies and working with pediatric and adult populations.

• Assess patients and create comprehensive treatment plans with goals and discharge strategies.
• Implement therapy activities, monitor progress, and revise plans with input from patients and families.
• Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and referrals to community resources.
• Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge information following departmental protocols.
• Act as a resource for staff, families, and physicians regarding rehabilitation services and equipment.
• Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and professional appearance.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development to ensure licensure and competency.

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program or related degree.
• Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist and BLS certification required.
• Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
