Manpower are currently recruiting for a Payroll Clerk & Accounts Assistant on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business where you'll play a key role in supporting payroll, accounts and administration functions within a close-knit and friendly team.

The RoleAs a Payroll Clerk & Accounts Assistant, you'll be responsible for ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time, whilst also providing support across the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities- Process weekly and monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines
- Maintain and update employee payroll records
- Check timesheets, holiday records, sickness absence and payroll data
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees
- Process new starters and leavers
- Assist with pension administration and payroll submissions
- Prepare payroll reports and maintain payroll documentation
- Process employee expenses
- Process purchase and sales invoices
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Assist with general office administration duties
- Provide additional support to the finance team as required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous payroll experience (essential)
- Experience with in an accounts or bookkeeping environment
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and confidentiality requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications
- Experience using Sage Payroll and Sage Accounts (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A professional, positive and team-focused attitude
- Competitive salary of £27,000 - £34,000, dependent on experience
- Monday to Friday working hours, 9:00am - 4:30pm
- Paid 30-minute lunch break
- 22 days annual leave, plus an additional day off for your birthday
- Extra time off over Christmas while working within a skeleton staff rota
- Early finish at 12:30pm every other Friday
