Job Coach (25/467) – 29.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

£23,750 FTE (£15,636.49 pro rata per annum)

The Grimsby Institute is part of the TEC Partnership, which is a large, innovative, dynamic and financially sound organisation.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Job Coach to join our Supported Internship team. This vital role supports young people with learning disabilities to develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive in the workplace.

You will work closely with interns, employers, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure every intern is fully supported throughout their placement—from initial profiling to securing paid employment wherever possible.

About

The Role

As a Job Coach, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one coaching and practical support to interns in workplace settings.
  • Carry out vocational profiling, job matching, and job analysis to ensure high-quality placement experiences.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with employers and promote inclusive employment opportunities.
  • Accompany interns on workplace visits, inductions, and their first days, providing ongoing observation, target-setting, and review.
  • Support interns to develop essential work-readiness skills, including CV writing, travel training, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Develop accessible task aids, workplace resources, and strategies to help interns succeed.
  • Liaise with parents/carers, colleagues, and external agencies to ensure consistent and holistic support.
  • Contribute to programme administration, progress reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be
  • Experienced in working with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Skilled in mentoring, coaching, and motivating learners.
  • A strong communicator with excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently, manage their own time, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office and online systems.
  • Able to work flexibly and travel between locations (car user essential).
