Job Title: Instrument Technician

Project: P66 O&M Team

Location: Immingham

Duration: Initial 6 months

Start Date: 7/4/26

Hours: 38 per week

Rate: £23.25ph, + £0.80ph 2nd tier payment, OT1 £ 32.55 OT2 £ 41.84 & radius allowance

• To install new or upgraded instrumentation to existing/new control systems, test, inspect to ATEX requirements, commission and return/initiate Service.

• Install new/upgraded instrumentation and associated impulse tubing.
• Check equipment against data sheets pre‑install.
• Perform instrument pre‑calibration checks.
• Commission equipment/systems, loop checking, P2P, etc.
• Minimise downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets.
• Prepare technical reports as required.
• Fault find and rectify instrumentation systems.
• Carry out isolations of instrument and control systems.
• Inspect instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas.
• Co‑ordinate and assist the Electrical Department as required.
• PtW originator/receiver.

• N/SVQ Level 3 / 4, Year Apprenticeship / Modern Apprenticeship / College Qualification (HNC/HND/ONC) in Instrumentation.
• Comp Ex 01 – 04.
• CCNSG Safety Passport.

• Knowledge of hydrocarbon/industrial production systems and associated hazards.
• Good understanding of process instrumentation.
• Good knowledge of process control systems.
• Good knowledge of fire and gas detection and ESD systems.
• Clear understanding of cause‑and‑effect logic diagrams.
• Fully familiar with the permit to work system and isolation procedures.
