Full specialist clinical training will be provided. The client has a range of clinical needs and communicates through behaviours rather than verbal communication.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting their health, safety, wellbeing, and daily routines while promoting a positive and engaging environment. About Me I attend school and I am working towards increasing the amount of time I spend in school. I enjoy using my iPad, chew toys, and a variety of sensory toys. I am active and enjoy going out and about with my family.
I need carers who are supportive, responsive, and able to understand my individual needs. Experience working with children and supporting attendance in educational settings is important. How I Communicate I would like you to understand and respond to my communication attempts. I would like to be involved in decisions about my care as much as possible. I benefit from staff communicating openly with both me and my parents to help meet my needs.
It can be difficult for me to reliably communicate when I am happy, sad, uncomfortable, or in pain, so I need carers who take the time to get to know me well. I enjoy exploring the world around me and benefit from hearing new voices and meeting new people. I would like ongoing support to develop my visual skills. I have a variety of toys and sensory resources that can be used to support my development and engagement.
There are no known concerns with my hearing, so please talk to me during care activities, daily routines, and play sessions. What I Need From My Carers A calm, patient, and engaging approach. Experience supporting children with complex needs. An understanding of non-verbal communication and behaviour-based communication. Encouragement and support to attend and engage in school activities. The ability to build positive relationships with me, my family, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
Consistent, person-centred support that promotes my wellbeing, development, and independence wherever possible.
