A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for you tobecome part of the Perinatal Mental Health Team in the North East Lincolnshire locality. We are looking for a dynamic, eager and passionate individual to joinour specialist service, offering support and a wide range of interventions tosupport mothers who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues. The post holder will be employed as a Band Four Early Years Practitioner.

The main function of the role is tosupport mothers with perinatal mental health problems to care for their babies,ensure that the emotional and physical needs of the babies are met and toengage in activities to promote the mother-infant relationship. The core purpose of the team in which the post-holder will work, is to deliver high quality, tailored interventions in perinatal and maternal mental health and attachment based approaches to mothers and infants.

Job responsibilitiesTo assist mothers with perinatal mental health problems to care for their babies, ensure that the emotional and physical needs of the babies are met and engage in activities to promote the mother-infant relationship The core purpose of theteam in which the post-holder will work, is to deliver high quality, tailored interventions in perinatal and maternal mental health and attachment based approaches to mothers and infants
The rolewould include direct interventions with women and their families with perinatal mental health problems, this may be one to one or in group setting. Visiting mothers in their own homes or at other premises such as childrens centres.local parks, cafes, medical centres. Tosupport teaching and training delivered by the perinatal service.
The postholder will assist the multidisciplinary team in meeting the needs of children and their families by undertaking delegated duties that support and enable family centred care.
Towork as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring that there is appropriate communication with other professionals involved in the care of thechild and mother.
Person Specification Qualifications- Professional childcare knowledge acquired through BTEC/NNEB or equivalent qualification examples being:
- Level 2 Early years practitioner
- NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education
- Evidence of continued professional development documented through personal portfolio
- Diploma in Childcare & Education (NNEB)
- Diploma in Childcare Studies (BTEC)
- Video Interactive Guidance
- Baby Massage
- Baby Yoga
- Gro Brain
- New Born Observation
- Watch wait wonder
- Circle of security parenting
- Experience of working in child care within a range of settings Experience of working with infants and parents
- Experience of supporting parents with children with complex needs or in difficult circumstances, e.g. Domestic Abuse, mental health within the family
- Working within a range of agencies to support families
- Community development work
- A good understanding of a range of child development issues
- Standard IT skills e.g. be able to use word, outlook email and Internet search facilities
- A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to child development
- Knowledge of Trust IT systems e.g. Systm On
