Monday to Thursday, 6:00pm – 6:00am
We are currently recruiting for a qualified Class 4 MOT Tester to join our client's established automotive operation in Grimsby. This is a permanent night shift position offering an excellent salary, a four‑day working week, and the opportunity to work within a professional and fast‑paced environment.
The RoleAs an MOT Tester, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles meet road safety and environmental standards by carrying out MOT inspections in accordance with DVSA regulations. The position is focused specifically on MOT testing, requiring a keen eye for detail, strong technical knowledge, and a commitment to delivering accurate and compliant inspections.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out Class 4 MOT tests in line with current DVSA standards and procedures.
- Inspect vehicles to assess their roadworthiness, safety, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Examine key vehicle components including:
- Brakes and braking systems
- Steering and suspension
- Tyres and wheels
- Lights and electrical components
- Windscreens, wipers, and washers
- Exhaust and emissions systems
- Seatbelts and other safety features
- Accurately record inspection findings using the MOT testing system.
- Identify defects and clearly communicate reasons for MOT failures.
- Ensure all testing equipment is used correctly and maintained appropriately.
- Adhere to DVSA regulations and company procedures at all times.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
- Support the efficient running of the testing operation while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- A valid Class 4 MOT Testing Licence (essential).
- Previous experience working as an MOT Tester.
- Strong knowledge of DVSA MOT testing regulations and standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects accurately.
- Good organisational and record‑keeping skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively during night shifts.
- A professional and reliable approach with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
