Job Description & How to Apply Below

This role is a Oncology nurse practitioner role within the Humber Health Partnership, focused on supporting patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT). The post requires a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse with expertise in cancer care, advanced assessment, and the management of treatment‑related complications. The role works across multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient‑centred care, improve patient experience, and contribute to the ongoing development of oncology services.

It also requires strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, alongside a commitment to education, clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence‑based practice. The post holder is expected to work autonomously, act as a specialist resource for patients and colleagues, and help shape and enhance cancer services across the organisation.

  • Provide specialist support and care for patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) throughout their treatment pathway.
  • Assess, monitor, and manage treatment‑related toxicities and oncology emergencies, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Act as a key worker and expert resource for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver patient education, counselling, and support to promote informed decision‑making and self‑management.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate and optimise patient care.
  • Contribute to nurse‑led services, clinics, and service development initiatives.
  • Support the education, training, and development of nursing and wider healthcare staff.
  • Participate in audit, quality improvement, clinical governance, and research activities to enhance cancer services.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure care is delivered in line with local and national standards.
  • Provide professional leadership and contribute to the ongoing development of oncology and SACT services.
The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.
