ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of young people and/or vulnerable adults.
- Statutory obligations as per statutory requirements specified in the CQC Regulations, Quality Standards and Health and Social Care Act 2008, Ofsted, Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
- Must comply and follow VCare
24’s Policies and Procedures at all times. - Must understand, record and utilise the computerised and manual filing systems.
- Be flexible and resilient in line with the expectations and nature of the role.
- Provide a safe and dignified service to all individuals in our care. Our service includes supporting individuals with the following:
- Personal care (e.g., bathing and toileting).
- Specialist care (e.g., PEG feeding, hoisting, medication administering).
- Communication needs (e.g., PECS).
- Support with household tasks.
- Dealing with challenging behaviours.
- Communicate – to demonstrate accurate record keeping to contribute towards social care meetings, care planning and assist in maintaining up-to-date recording of information.
- Be aware of and participate in own personal development by attending and contributing to supervision sessions, training courses and other departmental forums.
- Refer to line management/safeguarding officer upon any concerns, suspicions, evidence or allegations in relation to child protection in accordance with Children and Vulnerable Adults Safeguarding Board guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality within the workplace and ensure all sensitive information is correctly stored (e.g., locked cabinets, password protection, security bags). Comply with UK Data Protection Act, UK GDPR Act and relevant legislation.
- Responsibilities for health and safety as per the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; personal responsibility for own health and safety and that of other employees.
The above principal accountabilities are not exhaustive and may vary without changing the character of the job or level of responsibility.
- All staff are required to attend a full in-depth 10-day induction training regime covering both practical and theoretical work.

- Qualification – Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care/Childcare.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Have empathy, understanding and attitudes to meet the needs of children/young people/vulnerable adults within VCare
24 services. - Commitment to own personal and professional development.
- Hold a full driving licence with no more than 6 points for more than 1 year (to drive a company vehicle if required).
- Hold or obtain a full enhanced DBS check and continue to keep it updated.
- Commitment to promoting the rights of young people/vulnerable adults within VCare
24 Ltd. - Ability to advocate effectively on behalf of a young person/vulnerable adult within VCare
24 Ltd. - Ability to effectively report and record using electronic data software.
- Willingness to work in partnership with children/young people/vulnerable adults/families and other professionals.
- Able to liaise effectively with other agencies and professionals.
- Have a flexible approach to work, location, duties and hours.
- Previous experience or further training in specialist care such as PEG feeding, medication administration, or other specialised services.
- Extra qualifications or certifications relevant to SEN/LD care.
- Experience working with diverse populations and applying inclusive practices.
