Feed Production Assistant

The Feed Production Assistant is responsible for safely assisting the feed mixers with the mixing of livestock feed rations within established operating procedures and FDA compliance. They will also assist with housekeeping and routine maintenance, understanding it is very important to the safety of all.

Work Duties and Quality Expectations

• Receive and record all bag feed ingredients according to FDA and Key Cooperative Policy. Inform the site supervisor of any quality or quantity concerns.
• Accurately weigh 'hand ads' for the next day's production.
• Load bulk feed trucks with customers' orders.
• Show great customer service while loading bagged feed for customers.
• Assist in managing warehouse inventories for freshness and efficiency.

Work Schedules

• Hours of operation - must be able to be at work on time and ready to work the hours stated by their supervisor. This can include holiday weeks. Be able to work additional hours as needed.
• Inform the feed production manager with advance notice of any PTO needs.
• Must be capable of lifting 55.1 lb bags.

Safety & Housekeeping

• Perform housekeeping and routine maintenance and complete necessary records regarding these duties.
• Assists in keeping all inside and outside work areas extremely neat and orderly.
• Continuously follows the safety guidelines and safety programs established by Key Cooperative.
• Completion of safety reports and required records.

Customer Service

• Keeps the Feed Production Manager informed of operational, customer, vendors, or employee issues that may arise.
• Promotes the business with existing and potential customers.
• Projects a positive attitude to customers and employees at all times; exhibits good customer relations skills.

Education And/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Valid Driver’s License.
