Location and Working Pattern Holland – On-site Client Overview Our client is a leading construction contractor delivering large and complex infrastructure projects across Europe.
Responsibilities Lead and manage the health and safety function on assigned projects.
Provide advice and direction to project teams, engineers and supervisors on safety requirements.
Ensure safety is embedded in planning, delivery and close-out stages of the project.
Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and internal procedures.
Lead development and review of safety plans, risk assessments and method statements.
Conduct inspections, audits and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions.
Monitor subcontractor compliance and provide support where needed.
Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks and training sessions for staff and subcontractors.
Prepare and present safety reports to leadership teams and maintain accurate records.
Must-have Requirements EU citizenship or the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices in construction.
Proven experience managing health and safety on large construction projects.
Strong leadership and influencing skills with excellent organisational and communication abilities.
Ability to identify, assess and manage risks in dynamic project environments.
NEBOSH Diploma or an equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
Professional membership with IOSH or an equivalent professional body.
Demonstrated experience in managing safety teams or site-based safety professionals.
Nice-to-have Skills Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or on projects such as infrastructure, life sciences or data centres.
Familiarity with digital tools for safety reporting and performance tracking.
Knowledge of occupational health and behavioural safety initiatives.
Postgraduate qualification in health and safety, risk management or related disciplines.
Additional training in behavioural safety or leadership coaching.
Experience in environmental and sustainability aspects of project delivery.
