The Opportunity

The Manager, Cultivation Performance & Systems is responsible for leading and optimizing cultivation performance through data, technology, systems, and disciplined operational execution. This role ensures that cultivation activities are managed as a controlled and measurable production process, where decisions are based on dashboards, KPIs, system performance, process adherence, crop observations, and root-cause analysis. The Manager, Cultivation Performance & Systems combines horticultural expertise with strong analytical capability, operational leadership, and continuous improvement.

The role plays a key part in creating predictable, repeatable, and scalable cultivation outcomes by translating crop strategy into clear processes, SOPs, performance targets, and team execution. Success is achieved not through intuition alone, but through process control, data-driven decision-making, and strong collaboration across Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Commercial, and supporting functions.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate cultivation activities in line with production planning, crop strategy, quality standards, and business objectives.
  • Manage cultivation as a controlled production process supported by data, systems, and disciplined execution.
  • Balance time between reviewing dashboards, KPIs, system performance, process adherence, and walking the crop.
  • Ensure cultivation decisions are based on data, trends, root-cause analysis, crop performance, and operational facts.
  • Deliver cultivation targets related to yield per m², yield consistency, potency, terpene performance, microbial compliance, and crop quality.
  • Create operational stability by improving predictability, reducing variation, and strengthening process control.
  • Translate cultivation strategy into practical daily and weekly execution for teams.
Data, Systems & Performance Management
  • Use cultivation dashboards, reports, KPIs, ERP systems, and environmental control systems to monitor and improve performance.
  • Develop, review, and improve KPI reporting related to crop performance, operational excellence, data quality, forecasting, and system adoption.
  • Monitor data accuracy, reporting timeliness, forecast accuracy, dashboard utilization, and system adoption rates.
  • Ensure correct and consistent use of ERP systems such as ACM, SAP, Business Central, or equivalent.
  • Work with environmental control systems such as Ridder, Priva, Hoogendoorn, Source.ag, or equivalent systems.
  • Use data to identify performance gaps, deviations, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Create visibility through structured reporting, dashboards, KPI reviews, and performance discussions.
Process Control, SOPs & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop, implement, and improve SOPs, work instructions, and process standards for cultivation activities.
  • Ensure cultivation teams consistently execute established processes and SOPs.
  • Build repeatable and predictable processes that reduce dependency on individual intuition or informal ways of working.
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, process deviations, and root causes of inconsistent performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, consistency, traceability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support process mapping and standardization of cultivation workflows.
  • Challenge assumptions and promote fact-based problem-solving.
Quality, Compliance & Traceability
  • Maintain high standards for documentation, traceability, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure cultivation records, batch information, process data, and crop documentation are accurate, complete, and available.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality and Compliance on audits, findings, deviations, CAPAs, and improvement actions.
  • Monitor microbial compliance rate and support corrective actions where needed.
  • Ensure full alignment with internal SOPs, quality requirements, regulatory expectations, and traceability standards.
  • Create a culture where documentation, compliance, and process discipline are seen as part of operational excellence.
  • Lead, coach, and develop cultivation teams using measurable targets, data, and performance metrics.
  • Build a culture of accountability, ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach growers, supervisors, and team leads to understand and use data in daily…
