Our Lady Star of the Sea School is seeking a Preschool Aide for the school year. OLSOS is a faith-based community dedicated to bringing Jesus into our students’ lives through exceptional academics and rich faith experiences. We are looking for an energetic, faith-filled individual interested in engaging students in cooperative and safe play as well as monitoring homework.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

Create an environment where Jesus is at the center of all learning and interactions, and the school vision is practiced - “Building Strong Minds and Faithful Hearts through Catholic Education”

Provide a caring and nurturing environment where students feel safe and cared for

Establish a consistent disciplinary approach which sets high standards for student behavior, promotes self-direction and confidence, and manages inappropriate behavior effectively

Maintain a positive relationship with parents, staff, and administration through regular communication in a professional manner

Must be certified in Infant/Child and Adult CPR and First Aid (school will provide some training)

Complete 16 hours of Professional Development in Early Childhood topics annually

Prior to start, must complete:

Fingerprinting/Background check (through school)
Protecting God’s Children Workshop (available through Archdiocese of Detroit)
TB test and physical
High School Diploma or GED equivalency
