Position

Summary

The Rehabilitation Aide (also known as rehabilitation technician or physical therapy aide) will assist the Patient Experience Coordinator and clinicians by performing requested administrative and clinical duties. Duties include greeting patients, working alongside physical therapists and physical therapist assistants during patient treatment, and ensuring that all activities comply with state practice act requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for physical therapy treatments, placing and removing supportive devices.
  • Assist physical therapists during administration of treatments and provide routine treatment.
  • Safeguard, motivate, and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under the direction of professional staff.
  • Provide routine treatments such as hot/cold packs and other modalities (ultrasounds, electrical stimulation, etc.).
  • Clean work area and equipment after treatment; wash linens and maintain linen cabinets.
  • Maintain restrooms and other areas; restock supplies such as paper towels, tissue paper, and soap.
  • Assist the Patient Experience Coordinator with answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, and charting.
  • Help track non‑medical and medical supplies for the clinic and may order inventory.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school graduate or intern preferred.
  • Work Experience:

    Previous Clinical Aide or Rehab Tech experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to clearly document all projects and manage production.
    • Attention to detail and time‑management skills.
    • Patient/Client Satisfaction:
      Provide care/service that exceeds expectations.
    • Energetic and a team player.
    • Able to demonstrate compassion toward patients.
    • Complete tasks thoroughly.
    • Basic knowledge of office equipment preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Physical Demands
  • Specific vision requirements include close‑range, distance, peripheral, and depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
  • Employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Must be able to fulfill typical office activities, including remaining seated for periods while performing computer‑based work, filing activity, and lifting small office supplies.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, and reach with hand and arms.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20–25 pounds.
  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
Work Environment
  • Internal office setting.
  • Noise level usually low.
