The Cardiac Cath Lab at Grosse Pointe supports procedural labs and pre‑ and post‑procedure bays. As a regional referral center, we treat both elective and emergent cardiac and vascular patients, performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, high‑risk angioplasty, chronic total occlusion, structural heart procedures with in‑lab TAVR, pacemaker implants, generator changes, loop recorder insertions, transesophageal echocardiography and cardioversion.

The Cath Lab Nurse operates under the ANA scope of practice, utilizing the nursing process to provide professional, patient‑family‑centered care. The nurse works under the direction of the Nurse Leader, following Beaumont policies and procedures, and collaborates within a multidisciplinary team across the pre‑, intra‑ and post‑lab continuum, emphasizing critical thinking and communication skills.

• Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited program, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree (BSN), Master’s (MSN), DNP or PhD; if not a minimum BSN, new graduate with less than one year experience must enroll in an accredited BSN program within one year of licensure and complete within five years.
• At least one year of acute care experience; critical care, cath lab or procedural/OR experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Michigan, required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or ARC, required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from AHA, required within 180 days.
