Medical Assistant III Family Medicine – Corewell Health

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering a wide range of primary care and specialty practices. The Medical Assistant III supports physicians, clinic staff, and management to promote efficient operations and a patient- and family-centered care model.

• Act as an assistant to the physician/provider by delivering primary healthcare and patient care management.
• Collaborate with clerical staff to optimize operations and patient flow.
• Interact with outside healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance matters.
• Maintain updated competencies and communicate with leadership and accreditation bodies about process and workflow.
• Perform front office duties to provide coverage as needed and be available to support other departments or locations as required.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and support the model of patient- and family-centered care.
• Perform and be formally assigned (at least 20% of dedicated time) to additional responsibilities such as primary care gaps in care identification and outreach, residency clinic support, high-level disinfection, new hire precepting, participation in or leadership of special programs or grants, care management (PDCMs), language interpretation, EPIC Super User or other competencies, and advanced provider support (e.g., assisting with complex procedures and infusion/chemo scheduling).

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required completion of a competency-based accredited MA program with clinical rotation, or equivalent experience. Other certifications and hire dates may apply.
• 1 year (12 months) MA experience; or completed CH MA internship with 6 months MA experience; or completed CH MA apprenticeship program
• 2 years of MA experience (preferred)
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA or ARC within 30 days from hire
• CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) - AAMA or CRT-Medical Assistant, Registered (RMA) - AMT or other recognized CMA/MA credentials within 90 days from hire
• CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NCMA) - NCCT or CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (CCMA) - NHA or CRT-Medical Assistant, Certified (NRCMA) - NAHP within 90 days from hire (or as specified)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - State of Michigan, 90 days required
