Crane Engineer
Engineer is to be cognizant of the structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical equipment used in lifting and handling with specific responsibility for all overhead cranes, forklifts, and personnel lifts.
Responsibilities to include resolution of technical problems, recommending design changes, vendor liaison and input of procedures and technical support to department repair and test personnel in order to support production operations.
Requires an individual with a strong systems background to initiate and coordinate any studies to improve equipment, operating methods, expand existing hardware utilization and development of any new hardware required.
The individual must be capable of climbing to 150 foot levels above ground and feel comfortable working at this height. This job also requires field work in all climate conditions.
This position is onsite Monday - Friday with core hours between 6:00AM - 4:00PM. Occasional off hour and on-call work may be required.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree or Higher
- 5+ years of experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic components
Preferred:
- Knowledge of AISC, OSHA, NEC and ASME standards
- 1+ years of NAVSAE or shipyard experience
Skills:
- Capable of making technical presentations and be able to work with shipyard management personnel
- Mechanical background plus working experience with cranes
