Position: ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC (Title 32) with Security Clearance
Duties

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to perform work involved in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, calibrating, aligning, and maintaining the complete electronic integrated systems on Army National Guard helicopters. The organizational location of this position is the AVCRAD. The AVCRAD is an industrial facility that provides sustainment base maintenance in support of regional Army National Guard (ARNG) Aviation assets and supports field maintenance in accordance with ARNG Aviation priorities.

The AVCRAD maintenance activities ensure aircraft of the region are ready and available to support Federal and State missions. In addition, the AVCRAD performs National Maintenance Program (NMP) repair of rotary wing aircraft and components, limited depot airframe repair, aircraft painting, major airframe repair, depot-level component repair, and component repair and management, as directed by Army Materiel Command (AMC), and prioritized by the National Guard Bureau (NGB).

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to:
* Performs operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting on electronic integrated systems composed of a number of sensor subsystems:
Integrated Vehicle Health Management System (IVHMS), the Common Missile Warning System (CMWS), the Improved Countermeasure Dispenser System (ICMD), the Night Vision Goggle System(NVG), the Air Data Subsystem, the Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) and Doppler/GPS Navigation System (DGNS), Command Instrument Set (CIS); a logic subsystem, the Multiplex Data Bus System (MUX), the Multiplex Remote Terminal Units (MRTU), Data Link Terminal Units (DLTU), and Digital Automatic Flight Control System (DAFCS);

and actuating subsystems, and the Digital Automatic Stabilization System (DASS), which includes the Stability Augmentation System (SAS) and Command Augmentation System (CAS) and Hover Augmentation System (HAS).
* Completes operational checks, inspections, tests and troubleshooting of Line Replaceable Units (LRU).
* Completes bench check, testing, repair, inspection, modification, programming, reprogramming, mating, adjusting, alignment, and analyzing of LRUs and shop replaceable units.
* Recommends methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary.
* Isolates unusual malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, tools and test equipment including automatic test equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is often performed inside in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. Work is often performedon shipboard, at missile sites, or in aircraft, sometimes outside in inclement weather. Mechanics are subject to injuries such as cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical shock, RF energyand soldering irons. Working conditions are the same with the grades 10 and 11 level.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Light to moderate physical exertion is required in lifting and carrying items weighing from 5 to 18 kilograms (10 to 40 pounds) and occasional objects weighing in excess of 18 kilograms(40 pounds). Mechanics are required to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods of time on concrete or composition floors. On some assignments they must climb 6 to 15 meters (20 to 50 foot) towers.

Physical efforts are the same with the grade 10 and grade 11 level. Requirements Conditions of employment
* National Guard Membership is required.
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
* Must meet Compatible Military Assignment within one year from placement.
* Wear of the military uniform is mandatory.
* Direct Deposit is mandatory.
* Must obtain and maintain a secret secruity clearance.
* Current certification in high reliability soldering techniques, as well as electrostatic discharge protective techniques.
* Incumbent is required to serve a 2-year trial/probationary period. Qualifications GENERAL

Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 24 months of specialized experience in the following:
* Experience demonstrating skill, knowledge, and abilities of the FWS 2610 work at the Electronic Equipment Test Facility (EETF) of an Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRAD)/ Theater Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Group (TASMG).
