Overview
The selected applicant will be a Driller reporting to the Outside Machinist organization in the Groton Shipyard. D242 Drillers are responsible for all shipboard drilling tasks for submarine mechanical components. This includes nuclear and non-nuclear shipboard work. Limited shop work is included. Shipboard drilling work in the Groton Shipyard involves nearly every portion of a submarine, inside the hull, exterior, tanks and confined spaces.
The selected applicant must be capable of performing accurate/precise drilling utilizing portable equipment in the type of environments specified above.

QualificationsRequired:
- High School Diploma or GED or 2+ years related technical experience
- 0-5 years of relevant experience
- Must be available for all shifts
Preferred:
- Preference will be given to applicant with drilling experience in a shipyard, machine shop or structural fabrication environment or applicants who have graduated from a technical school for mechanical Trades.
- Preference will be given to applicants willing to obtain qualifications to work in radiological areas.
