Outside Electrician - Skilled

Job Responsibilities:

• Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones, including control, power, electronics, and weapon systems.
• Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
• Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization.
• Groom electrical components for inspections and provide documentation for each job performed. Skills include vulcanization of ship's cables and installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
• Learn power and data/signal cable splicing.

Required:

• High School Diploma, GED, or 2+ years related technical experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Availability for all shifts

Preferred:

• Vocational, Technical Colleges, Apprentice programs, Military, Shipbuilding, and Manufacturing experience
• Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative Training Program
