Mathematics Teacher

Lawrence Academy (LA) is an independent boarding and day school in Groton, MA, serving 400 students in grades 9‑12.

LA is hiring a full‑time Mathematics Teacher to start August 2026. The role involves teaching algebra, geometry, and pre‑calculus in an integrated, problem‑solving environment, collaborating with colleagues to develop curriculum, and participating in the residential life of the school.

• Teach high‑school mathematics (Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre‑calculus, and optional computer science/finite topics).
• Develop curriculum and instructional resources aligned to an integrated curriculum and mastery approach.
• Integrate technology (TI‑84, Geogebra, Desmos) into instruction and classroom activities.
• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group instruction, extra help as needed.
• Engage in boarding school life, including curricular, co‑curricular, and extracurricular programs; participate in faculty residential program, weeknight duties and weekends.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment; promote cultural competence.

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field (minimum).
• Strong knowledge of algebra, geometry, pre‑calculus, and optional computer science or finite topics.
• Experience teaching high‑school mathematics preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively, develop technology‑based instruction, and work one‑on‑one with students.
• Successful completion of required background checks (criminal, sexual‑offender, driving records, fingerprinting).

Annual salary range of $55,000 – $70,000.
